User Interface Design

UK Employment Service: Website

I was employed to design the User Interface and User Experience of the UK Employment Service’s website and, web-based, job search application.

The intended user was an atypical Jobcentre Plus (JCP) client, ie: newly unemployed professionals (NUPs) with high levels of qualifications and skills, these were small in number and generally internet-savvy and they had a different set of needs than those addressed by the kiosk based version of the application resident in Jobcentres.

This award winning service, website, and kiosk, were later rebranded as Jobcentre Plus.

The Employment Service Website – and web-based job searching application – was voted Government Website of the Year.
